Goodbye Cruiser

I thought I was ready for this day. Ready to say goodbye to the "Cruiser". After so many years of looking at this big eyesore that Russ has had to drive to work and back in the summer with no air conditioning and the window didn't roll down and in the winter with no heat and no defrost which was just plain dangerous. But as we were getting ready to get rid of it I have a part of me that is crying inside. This was my Grandparents car and they loved it. We have tried to make them proud and take good care of it for them. But we have finally said our goodbyes and we hope that it has many more stories to tell.

Eli and I crying over it. (well, Eli looks like he is just pulling a face.)

Tiny Tu-Tu's

I got this idea from a friend (Sarah) to make little newborn Tu-Tu's. I think they turned out SO cute. They are tiny but I am sure my little nieces are going to love them... Even if they can't sit up yet. Now I need to mail them..

I still have a few bigger ones to make. So fun! And I actually feel crafty.

Zoo Fun?!

Well, I decided since Russ was working a 24hr shift this weekend that I would drive 1 1/2 hrs to the St. Louis Zoo and meet some friends. I mentally prepared myself for being at the Zoo alone with 4 kids. (I am not a Zoo person at all, something about animals in cages..) Anyway, we got up and I got us all out of the house. About 25min into the drive Ivy throws up ALL over. Oatmeal everywhere! I figured I was already committed to the trip and it might have been a fluke so I cleaned her up as good as I could on the side of I-70 and hoped that would be the only time. It was thankfully. But the roads into St. Louis were closed and that took a little bit for me to figure out then Ivy fell and got a big fat lip and to top it all off, as we were trying to leave the Zoo finally, we got lost. I swear we could not find our way out of the Zoo. I think they secretly trap you in there like they do the animals. We eventually made it through and we all slept well that night.

The Butterfly house is by far my favorite. Although Saul was running around dodging the butterflies yelling "oh no, nature.. not nature" I don't think the workers liked that much.

Rotten teeth=No school

My house this morning...

Eli: "Mom, I don't want to go to school today."

Me:
"Eli, School is your most important job as a kid so you need to go."

Eli:
"Not all kids go to school all the time Mom. There was this kid who had black teeth and he got to leave school to get silver teeth from the dentist."

So now, I really think Eli is considering drastic action to get out of going to school. Don't worry I made sure he brushed his teeth.

Daily Happenings

As some of you know, on the Fourth of July while we were out of town our mailbox got blown up. Yep, some punks put fireworks in our mailbox and it flew everywhere. ( It is TOTALLY karma for Russ... get my drift..) Anyway, since then we have installed a new mailbox but didn't do a great job of it. So a few days ago we decided to cement it in to the ground. At least until next July.. Saul got a hold of my camera and took quite a few pictures. Now he thinks he needs a nice camera like mine.. Good luck with that buddy.

Russ called me a "poser" but I was totally helping!

Saul testing out his photo skills.

This is my favorite picture Saul captured! Ivy got on here bike and rode right out into the middle of the rode.. Russ ran out to get her. His face is priceless, oops!

Kanyon and Saul have started TaeKwanDo lessons. They love it. It is through a Christian church here in town. It even comes with Bible study.. Bonus!

Last night was date night and it was out turn to watch kids. We had a few extra friends of the boys too. This is the crew eating hot cookies I had just made. It was a wild night!
