Travels

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

See you all after our travels...

Just stuff...

Happy St. Patty's day! Here are my Shamrock pancakes I attempted this morning.. They tasted good at least!

We had a great week last week and a fun weekend. My Mom came into town and we went and spent a night in Nauvoo IL. We stayed at this really cute bed and breakfast right on the Mississippi river. We also went to the Nauvoo Temple which is always a treat.

We took the kids to IHOP for a Dr Seuss breakfast.. They loved it!

We went skating with the Scouts and had a great time! Eli got the hang of it really quick!

Everyday life....

Ok, so it is sad that Saturdays are just like every other day around my house anymore. Husband is working, kids are home and they don't understand sleeping in on Saturdays. Well, this morning my husband was gone by 5:00am and I spread across the bed really hoping for a nice Saturday sleep in. And, it happened...sort of. Sleeping in is like 7:25 around here but this was the conversation I had with Kanyon while I was still in bed.

Me: You guys ready for some breakfast Kanyon?

Kanyon: Well, we are doing our chores.

Me: Whoa.. You guys are awesome.

Kanyon: Yeah we wanted to get them done so.. (pause)

Me: So you could party all day? (because you want to play your game boy all day)

Kanyon: Yeah!

Me: Ok well, go ahead and finish your chores and I will come down and get breakfast in a little while.

Kanyon: Hey Saul, lets do our chores then Mom will come get us breakfast.

Saul: I am already doing my act of kindness by getting Eli cereal. Then I will clean my bathroom. (who's house did I wake up in?)

Me: (in my head) I could stay in bed all day if I could teach them how to get Ivy in her highchair.....hum.....

So, My laziness has finally paid off and my children are running the show. All the times I said "in a minute", "Just a second", "Not right now" etc... Have really made a positive impact. They no longer need me. As long as I keep the fridge stocked they are good to go. Sounds good to me.

Super Sister

Eli LOVES being a big brother and he loves to play with Ivy. He takes good care of her while I get things done around the house. Well, Eli came to us the other night and said.. "Ivy can have my shirt". We didn't really know what to say and he really wanted to do something nice for his sister so we just said "What a nice thing to do Eli, lets put it on her right now" You should have seen his face light up! It was the cutest thing, Ivy walking around in her new shirt. Something you should know about Ivy is that even at the ripe old age of one she loves shoes.. She will gather them from around the house and try to put them all on. She managed to get my crocks on and this was the result. I think she has a career in fashion.. Don't you?!

Great Day!

Sunday was a beautiful day! Although I was pretty sore and still recovering we couldn't help but take full advantage of the weather.
Here are some pics of our fun..

I know that the boys look homeless.... It was Sunday, We didn't
go to Church because Russ had to work and I was recovering
and well,...they dressed themselves. I can't help but laugh at Eli's
undershirt hanging out from underneath his other shirt. The
undershirt is Kanyon's obviously. And Saul has on his PJ's. Look
closely at his hole in the knee of his pants. Yep. pj's under there. Gotta love it. And the picture of Eli on Russ's shoulders was an experience. Eli wanted to be carried but he is afraid of heights and he hates to be up on shoulders. I told him if he smiled he could be let down.. Cruel I know. Look at the strained smile. Poor kid. This was all before Russ got called in to work for a few hours. We were glad we got this time together.
After a long day outside here is Kanyon during Scripture study. Don't you love this pic! Just like it should be...What a great day!

Here I am!

Well, I am out of the hospital and starting to recover nicely. It turned out to be a much bigger deal then I had expected. They did the Ablation (they ablated actually 17 times). It was worse then I had even imagined it to be, but it is over. They kept me a bit longer because my blood pressure was having a hard time staying over 70/45 . They put me on a high salt diet..(not a problem) but other then being sore where they inserted five catheters in to my heart through both sides of my groin and my neck I am beginning to get up and about.
It's a funny thing being a patient on the cardiac floor of the hospital because they mostly see older people. (Which I had to share a room and went through two old ladies) But, every time a doctor or nurse would enter the room they would look at me twice and always have something to say about being so young etc.. What is it with hospitals and not letting you sleep at night too?? They came in and weighed me at 1:30 am. Really, was my weight going to change so drastically over the next few hours? It is like they have a monitor that as soon as you start to doze off they come in a have something very important to do. I had something very important to do too... SLEEP! It's ok, I am happy to be out and in my own bed now where I just have kids that have that same monitor built in that as soon as you start to doze off they need a drink of water or something and they need you to get it.
So, the doctor said that I have a 95% chance that he fixed the problem and if not I have to come in and go through it again... Ah....I don't think so buddy! He had better have gotten it. Anyway here is my update. Thank you for ALL the well wishes and prayers.
