Snow Day - The Story

We woke up this morning and I had a feeling that the kids were going to be out of school again due to the weather so I thought, why not document our entire day. I mean who doesn't want to get an inside look at what the Beechers do when they have the whole day off of school. Now you don't have to wonder anymore....

7:15am Kanyon looking and pleading for another day off school.

7:20am
getting his wish as we check the school website and see school is canceled again..

Ivy wakes up and is happy she gets her brothers home again all day.

8:00am
Saul and Eli sleep having no idea about the good news they are going to wake up too. (As I shut their door to let them sleep as long as they want)

9:06am
Eli wakes up and crawls into my bed to hear the good news and get a blurry picture taken.

12:15pm
Pulling out of the driveway to brave the snow and get Eli to a birthday party

12:16pm

1:30pm

2:45pm
Leaving the party and scraping my windows.

3:15pm
Kids wanted McDonald's and I gave in.

5:00pm
Me scrubbing the carpet where Kanyon had tracked black ice all through the house. I was not happy.

5:15pm
Russ is home and we head to Lone Star for dinner (kids eat free on Tuesday's, you can't pass it up! I know the kids just had McDonald's but I wanted Lone Star.)

6:30pm
I organize my closet.

7:10pm
We cap off the night with a Family movie night of "Horton Hears a Who". (Well, I watch some and then come and blog)

What a day.. And that was only half of the pictures....

Pack Meeting

Saul earned his first badge this Month. Kanyon also earned another bead. Its so fun to watch your boys go through scouts. They did the funniest skits. We also made a few crafts. Their scout leaders are the best!

Nice Words

Tonight we had three Missionaries over for dinner. After I was standing doing the dishes and Russ comes up to me and says..

"Babe, you pulled it off. With ease and elegance"

We have the Missionaries over at least once a month but tonight just those few words made all my hard work totally worth it!

So much for that...

I put the star on the top of the tree last night. All the lights were on ALL the decorations.... My pretty clear glass ornaments with a picture of Christ in side that I decided to make 24 of to try and have Christ in our decorations. The individual placed
poinsettias with a nice bunch around the top with the star.. The kids prized home made ornaments with their pictures on them. Now... Broken, ruined, soaked, crushed.

I woke up this morning and heard a crash.. Russ was up so I thought he had done something. I didn't get out of bed but heard Russ cleaning something up. He finally came up and told me that the Christmas tree had fallen over. Glass and water everywhere. He had cleaned up most of it before I got a picture. So, back to square one. I have to wait for him to get home from work to really access the trees real issue. So for now I am leaving it where it is.

Christmas Tree Shopping

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we went to a tree farm to cut our own Christmas tree down. We have some great friends that introduced us to this last year and we have made it a tradition. This place is awesome. You get a hayride up to the trees, free hot chocolate (all you can drink), Santa is there, kettle corn, petting farm, gift shop... and the list goes on. The weather was great the whole time until we started on our hour drive home. It rained/snowed and we woke up to more snow the next morning. I couldn't get enough of the outdoor mountain smell. (Maybe it was the kettle corn smell..) But makes me excited for Christmas, If I had just gotten started earlier on making some of my gifts..

Thanksgiving Time

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with some friends and with Russ's parents this year! Bob and Katie (Russ's parents) are such hard workers; we got so many things done that I have had on my list for months! Thank You!

Russ thought we needed a picture of the Turkey. I know.. I know, I out did myself. :)
