Memorial Day
On Monday which was Memorial Day we decided to take the kids miniature golfing. Which really consisted of the kids running from hole to hole trying to hit their ball in and who ever got to the end of the eighteen holes first won. So our golfing lasted about 1/2 hr. We probably should have taught them to take turns and wait until everyone finished one hole before going to the next but no, we opted to watch the craziness and be glad it was over so quickly.
Mostly I am posting these pictures to let you all see my "new do" I got over 10 inches cut off almost 2 weeks ago and it is taking some getting used to. I have determined that I am a long hair girl but it will be fun for summer. These pictures don't really give you the full affect, the short bangs and the feel like a news anchor look but, you can get the idea.
Oh, and look how festive I am on Memorial Day dressed up like a flag. I really got into the spirit of the holiday :)

Worn Out!
Yes, I am Worn out! My Mom came out and stayed with us this last week. We had way too much fun and ate out I think every day, sometimes twice. We took the kids out of school and just played. We went to Nauvoo for the weekend and stayed in a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. Our room had a huge window that looked over the Mississippi river. It was beautiful.
Ivy loved to climb on top of the nice antique suitcases and look out the window... Or just to let everyone know she was there..
Playing old Pioneer games in Nauvoo
Riding the carriage ride
Nauvoo Temple
Ivy drinking from a fountain for the first time
We also went to the Candy Factory, Youzeum, Chucky Cheese and many other places...
The boys felt pretty cool in their new Heeleys. (They are shoes with wheels in them, they are all the rage)
I couldn't end this post without a picture of my amazing Mom. She is just one of the kids! We love having her come and stay.
We now need a vacation from our vacation......

Tagged
I have been tagged by my friend Becka. I have been putting it off but here it goes. Beware, its not very exciting.
3 Joys
1. My husband- Who just surprised me with a fresh picked rose in a beautiful glass sitting on my bathroom counter. Truly, I am So lucky to have him!
2. My children- Sometimes your biggest joys can also be your biggest challenges.. They are the best though!
3. Self tanner- Yeah, I admit it. I know it doesn't really follow the Husband and Children thing but it is such a joy I had to put it.
3 Fears
1. Someone coming in to my house and hurting me or my kids. I hate sleeping here at night alone.
2. The dark- I know childish, but totally true.
3. Driving my car alone at night. I think someone is going to be hiding in the back seat and get me.
3 obsessions/collections
1. Painting my nails- I pick it off and then repaint every night.
2. Chewing ice- I have a cup with me wherever I go.
3. Vacuuming- I NEED my house vacuumed. Mostly just to smell the carpet fresh.
3 surprising facts
1, 2 & 3 Have you met me?? I have no secrets and nothing surprising. I tell everything to anyone. Ask me anything, I will spill it!
I am not tagging anyone tonight but considered yourself tagged if you need something to blog about. :)

Trouble!
TROUBLE... is all I can say about my sweet little Ivy. Her new game is getting the crackers, cereal, bread, anything really and hiding it around the house. I have found a torn up bagel in the couch cushions, Pretzels in shoes, Cereal everywhere you can imagine. My vacuuming has gone from once a day to almost hourly. I don't even put the vacuum away anymore...
I have three boys and NOTHING compairs to this little darling.
She has also mastered the art of climbing. She climbs on everything.
I can hardly wait for what is in store when she is a teenager...
Thankfully her sweetness out weighs all the other stuff. And lucky for her she has the cuteness factor.

Mother's Day
So, I am not good with surprises at all! I have to know! This morning while Russ was gone for a bit I quizzed the kids on what they could have planned for Mothers Day. (mostly Eli because he can never hold it in) This was the conversation after I had been probing a bit.
Saul: "Okay Mom, I can tell you one thing, We did not get you a blender!" (That's what I got last year and they haven't heard the end of that inappropriate gift for a year now.)
Eli: "Yeah! We didn't get you anything with a handle." (Glad they are finally learning something)
Me: (realizing I wasn't getting anywhere) "Okay, well lets get our chores done so we can do something fun today."
Eli: "I know! Since we got you a Mothers Day present, you can buy us Pokemon cards."
UH...........HELLO?!

Got Trash?
To help Kanyon earn his Wolf badge for scouts we went out picking up trash around our neighborhood. It is amazing how much trash is laying everywhere. We didn't even get past the kids school without filling our garbage bag. Sad! Besides the fact that Kanyon with his bright orange shirt looks like an inmate doing community service. It was a pretty nasty job but the kids actually loved it. When I told Eli how good of a job he was doing he turned to me and said "MOM, WE WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD" Music to my ears! Don't worry, the kids wore gloves! And got ice cream after. I think we will keep this as a tradition to do more often. But I might make kanyon were a different colored T-shirt next time.

Uncle Ramsay
We were so lucky to have Russ's brother Ramsay come and visit on Sunday. He just returned from New Zealand and is on his way to Florida to work for the summer. It was SO beautiful Sunday that we had a BBQ, Wrestled, road Ramsay's Long Board, played the Wii, made cookies went on a hike and the park. Ramsay had driven all night to get here and had gotten about 1 hr of sleep and Russ had worked all night and then worked until about 11:00 and was also call so he had gotten about 3 hrs of sleep. I was walking with two zombies but we had a wonderful time. Uncle Ramsay is always the life of the party and the boys just adore him! Thanks for coming to vist Uncle Ramsay!!
Oh...Brother...
Hot Mamma's!
By the end we realized Ivy felt really hot and wasn't acting like herself. We took her temp. when we got home and it was 102.7 Poor little thing. The important thing is that she still looks good for being so sick ;)
